In your opinion, is the continuation, even perpetuation of classical symbolic motifs due to a simple lack of originality or inability to create new motifs, or is it perhaps something more complex? Is it at all possible that our psyches have been somehow preprogrammed to respond to these motifs due to genetics, or might it be a projection of cosmic consciousness / mind of God that we all access knowingly or not, or maybe a combination?
In some instances, the selection of particular logos and their iconic similarities to older motifs may actually be attributable to a lack of originality. Certainly, we are living in a time where there is nothing new under the sun. Just look at Hollywood. The entertainment industry is so creatively bankrupt that it has resorted to recycling the same films over and over again.
That being said, there is definitely some deliberate intent underpinning the selection of familiar motifs. As any semiotician will tell you, there is always a reason for a particular sign to be chosen. Signs communicate messages. So, the choice of a sign hinges on what message the selector wishes to convey to the percipient. Some signs have been invoked so much over the years that they have become virtually archetypal. So, invoking those same signs again or developing a new sign that iconically resembles an older one will typically relay the same denotative and connotative meanings.
For instance, in his second inaugural speech, George W. used the phrase, "fire in the minds of men." This is the very same phrase that Fyodor Dostoevsky used in The Possessed to describe the Promethean faith of the early socialist revolutionaries. George W. Bush's invocation of the phrase is what semioticians call an "index." It references something else. In this case, Bush was referencing the Promethean faith. Bush's invocation of the phrase also qualifies as an intertextual reference. It associates the text of neoconservativism with the text of Promethean radicalism of earlier sociopolitical Utopian movements.
Chances are that Bush was not aware of the semiotic significance of this phrase, but his speech writers definitely were. George W. was surrounded by neoconservative ideologues at the time. The neoconservatives owe their heritage to the Promethean faith. Claes G. Ryn has characterized the neoconservatives as "neo-Jacobins." The Jacobinism of revolutionary France could be considered a precursor to all modern socialist revolutionary movements. In the case of the neoconservatives, they are merely Trotskyites who have blended their leftist philosophy with Leo Straussian fascist additives and technocratic concepts. Irving Kristol, who is considered the godfather of neoconservativism, was a young Trotskyist. The neoconservative concept of a "global democratic revolution" is merely the latest incarnation of Trotsky's Fourth International for permanent revolution.
So, for those who were interpolated, Bush's invocation of Dostoevsky's famous phrase semiotically gesticulated towards these themes. Some segments of the Establishment, which is composed largely of adherents to old Enlightenment rationalism, probably understood the real message. No doubt, some of the Eastern elite did as well. Putin, who exhibits some Stalinist proclivities, probably recognized the Trotskyist pedigree of the neoconservatives and understood its implications for his hegemony. The Trotskyists have been engaged in an ideological feud with their Stalinist counterparts for a long time. The "liberalization" of the old Soviet Union, which ex-KGB officer Anatoliy Golitsyn called a hoax, allowed the tradtional communist hardliners to revitalize their waning hegemony. Now, they are becoming overtly defiant toward the Trotskyist neoconservative regime in the West. Putin is already aligning himself with communist China against the West. A Sino-Russian superstate would prove to be a formidable opponent for the neoconservatives' "global democratic revolution." We cover such a possible conflict in the new edition of The Ascendancy of the Scientific Dictatorship. At any rate, what is important to understand is the semiotic significance of the terminology invoked by George W.
We could go on and on about semiotics. The iconic similarities between the TIA's offical logo and the insignia of the Insinuating Brethren... Nancy Pelosi's recent reference to a "new order of the centuries"... the esoteric iconography that adorns public monuments... we could go on and on. What is important to take away from these examples is a continuity of thought. Ultimately, this is a conspiracy of ideas. Demonstrating organizational continuity is problematic in conspiracy research. However, demonstrating ideational continuity is a bit easier. In some instances, an ideational continuum is axiomatic and any educated individual won't need a decoder ring to identify it. Unfortunately, many people are not educated. Bread and circuses comprise their daily "education." In addition, many people have already unconsciously adopted virulent strains of thought. Authoritarian hierarchilization facilitates the transmission of memes from the higher echelons of power to the lower layers of socioeconomic strata. Thus, society tangibly enacts the occult dictum, "As above, so below."
Would you consider that it may have to be enough for people to be aware so that they can make decisions with accurate information, but any type of "movement" beyond education may actually be counter-productive?
There is a time and a place for secrecy, to be sure. If the Nazis had known of the Allied plans for June 6, 1944, history would have gone down a very disastrous path. People with evil intentions are not entitled to the truth because they only intend on abusing the truth. If people hiding Jews had been completely honest with Nazi authorities when they came looking, the Nazis would have used that truth to kill those hidden, which is an obvious abuse of the truth.
The problem we have today is that most of the secrecy we see has nothing to do with national security or the well-being of the people. Instead, most of the secrecy we have today has to do with the practice of what Professor Peter Dale Scott called deep politics. Deep politics are the criminal activities that make up the everyday business of the power elite and their deep political system. Adam Weishsupt's Illuminist movement was responsible for systematizing the means and methods that constitute deep politics, a fact that should concern people whether or not they believe the Illuminati is still in existence. Bill Moyers confirmed that deep politics is practiced by some modern elites when he stated that what many people consider to be conspiracy, David Rockefeller considers just another day at work.
Exposing people to the reality of deep politics would, in our view, unify people, not divide them. Why would exposure bring unification and not fragmentation? Because deep politics involves activities that the majority of people believe to be wrong. Theft, usury, assassination, murder, and exploitation are acts that almost all people object to. The only ones who really have no objection to such activities are Luciferians and Satanists who do not believe in objective evil.
Any closing thoughts? At some point in time, something along the lines of the American Revolution may become necessary to end the level of elite criminality we see today. That revolution can take many different forms. If we do not want it to take a violent form, we must be successful in our education campaigns. Education campaigns are important because they strip the elite and their deep political system of plausible deniability. Without plausible denial, people in power are forced into a corner where their only option is to do the right thing. When covert politics are no longer an option due to exposure, accountability to the governed re-enters the picture.
Hosea 4:6 says, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge..."
And, the old Baconian mantra opines, "Knowledge itself is power."
Evidently, knowledge is very important. However, there is another element that is central to the maintenance of freedom. In a letter to James Warren, Samuel Adams wrote, "If virtue and knowledge are diffused among the people, they will never be enslaved. This will be their great security."
So, knowledge is crucial. Yet, of equal importance is the virtue of those who hold the knowledge. Not only must we cultivate our minds, but we must enrich our spirits as well. The Lord knows the hearts of men and, if He sees goodness in people, He shall satisfy them with liberty and long life. We have to be cleaner and better than those who wish to enslave us. We must be people of higher standards and values. Otherwise, all the knowledge in the world will not save us.
Just look at the power elite... they are equipped with vast repositories of knowledge. However, you only employ that knowledge in campaigns of oppression, genocide, and destruction. As you know, it takes much more effort to create than destroy. Yet, a majority of the elite's projects involve destruction. If these are the only ends to which their knowledge can be applied, then their minds will be incapable of saving them. The "fire in the minds of men" is actually a funeral pyre upon which the corpse of tyranny shall burn.
Hopefully, we've helped to shine more light on the macrocosm across which the battle between good and evil is fought. At same time, we hope to exalt Jesus Christ. Certainly, not everyone will accept Him. But, we have rewards waiting for us where moth and rust cannot destroy.
At any rate, those who want to read a comprehensive listing of our articles can do so at www.conspiracyarchive.com/Commentary/Collins.php. There is archived audio there as well. So, there is plenty for readers to check out! And, any readers who would be interested in my (Phillip's) fictional writing may want to check out www.expansivethoughts.com. The website is devoted to a book that I (Phillip) collaborated on with two other authors. There are even some stories and poems devoted to the topic of conspiracy. Plus, the two other co-authors are very impressive writers. So, creative writing enthusiasts might find Expansive Thoughts entertaining.
And, for those who want to learn more about the origins of the contemporary conspiratorial tradition will definitely want to check out Terry Melanson's forthcoming book. It will probably be released through Trine Day Publishing. This verital tome is filled with exact descriptions of the occult ceremonies, and the symbolism used within the Illuminati lodges. The book will be over 700-pages long! It will also include a facsimile of an Illuminati certificate from one of their Munich lodges, circa 1780. It is signed by the 4 officers (all Illuminati) and it bears two stamps: one of the owl of Minerva in the bottom left corner, and another in left upper corner, of a pyramid below a star. Terry has done outstanding work! His book will be the definitive authority on Illuminism and the conspiratorial tradition! In a field where good research is so hard to find, Terry's book will be a "must own" item!
Thank you so much for the opportunity to talk! We appreciate it and look forward to future interviews! Keep up the great work!
Phillip Darrell Collins
Visigothic vanity
within man's mind refined.
Reason meets insanity
when his hubris is enshrined.
Defying the Creator,
man rejects the laws in stone.
Man, the reigning traitor,
Worships his Reason alone.
Upon the scales with sin,
the truth is weighed the least.
The nature that is within
becomes more like the Beast.
Man, in his vanity,
sees all his crimes condoned.
His kingdom of profanity
is ruled by Prometheus Enthroned.

We're lucky to have some time with brothers Phillip Darrell and Paul David Collins. They recently published an updated version of their crucial book, The Ascendancy of the Scientific Dictatorship.
Before beginning, I'd like to take a moment to thank Phillip and Paul for their amazing research and their enthusiasm in answering these questions. I hope you find this as enlightening as I did.
From your research, do you believe that the concept of creation of the universe implied to ancient man that an end point (in a physical sense) was a natural progression?
Well, not in all ancient cosmologies, but definitely some. Especially Gnosticism, which held a scathing derision for all things corporeal. It was also evident in Zoroastrianism. The neo-Gnostic sociopolitical Utopians of Marx and Lenin's time would transplant many of the concepts of these ancient cosmologies within the ontological plane of the physical universe. In the process, they attempted to transform many transcendant and incorporeal concepts into objects of immanent experience.
For instance, the mythic character of Prometheus became incarnate within the human mind. Thus, we have the emergence of what James H. Billington calls the "Promethean faith," a secular religion that contended that science and the cognitive powers of man would act as the chief facilitators of humanity's salvation. Evident within this revolutionary faith is the Gnostic doctrine of "self-salvation," an occult dogma that would be edified by the Darwinian claim of "self-creation" (encapsulated within the thesis of abiogenesis, which seems to be derivative of the Kabbalistic myth of the golem).
This is why Wolfgang Smith refers to Darwinism as a "Gnostic myth." Interestingly enough, both Nazi Germany and Communist Russia, which were outgrowths of the Promethean faith, were premised upon the Gnostic myth of Darwinism. As W. Warren Wagar observes, "The faith of progress itself--especially the idea of progress as built into the evolutionary scheme of things-is in every way the psychological equivalent of religion." This explains why such stridently secular movements sociologically behaved like religions.
Of course, there are many that say that the traditional Abrahamic faiths are derivative of older occult religions. However, such claims overlook some significant distinctions... specific the Bible's conspicuously different perspective on eschatology. While Christianity and Judaism do hold that there will be an "end of the age," they do not really hold that there will be an "end of the world." Ecclesiastes 1:4 states: "One generation passes away, and another generation comes; But the earth abides forever." Isaiah 45:17 states: "But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end." And, Ephesians 3:21 states: "Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen." These Scriptures suggest that Judaism and Christianity present no real "end point."
Now, the Scriptures do mention that world is "passing away," particularly in the New Testament. However, to understand what is meant by such verses, one must first examine the etymology of the term "world" as it is invoked throughout the Scriptures. For instance, in the original Greek version of 1 John 2:15-17, the word "world" is translated from the term kosmos. Kosmos means "ordered arrangement." This connotes a particular system. At the time that Jesus invoked this term, what was the dominant system? It was the oligarchical system of Rome, which was swallowing up the world in hopes of establishing a global empire. Such systems have been with humanity for a long time. Ominously enough, one could argue that the neoconservative wing of the power elite has been erecting a system that is virtually identical to the Roman model. What the Scriptures promise isn't so much an "end of the world," but an end to this kind of system.Occult eschatologies, particularly Gnosticism, always seem somewhat hostile towards corporeality. Ironically, they remain preoccupied with the immanent cosmos... perhaps because the adherents of such beliefs sought to alchemically alter the immanent universe and apotheosize mankind. At any rate, there is a definite derision for coporeality within occult belief systems.
Such is not the case with Christianity and Judaism. There is no question that corporeality has a legitimate place within the hierarchical order of God's creation. Man's own physical body holds reverence in the eyes of the Lord. In 1 Corinthians 6:15 and 6:19, the apostle Paul makes it clear that the body is the temple of God. Yet, while the Lord honors the physical body and corporeality in general, He has made them ontologically subordinate to the spiritual realm. The soul, which is a spiritual entity, is the energizing mechanism of the corporeal body. It animates the hylomorphic composite of man. This is an appropriate portrait of the soul, especially given its etymological origin. "Soul" is derived from anima, which also provides the root for the word "animation." Thus, while the spirit requires corporeality for embodiment, corporeality requires the spirit to be animated with life.
So, the creation of the universe may have implied an "end point" to some, but not all. It definitely implies an "end point" to occult secret societies. It also means the same thing to the power elite, which is composed of what the deceased Malachi Martin called "sociopolitical Darwinians." Their immanentized Eschaton is a one-world socialist totalitarian government, which they belief will be the natural outgrowth of man's alleged "political evolution."
Is this a precursor to today's Big Bang Theory and more modern
ideas about eschatology (a proposed Great Collapse) in the
astrophysical or scientistic realm?
Funny you should ask! We address this question in the 2006 edition of The Ascendancy of the Scientific Dictatorship! To answer your question, we'll quote directly from our book:
"While scientific materialists and their fellow travelers (e.g., behaviorists, physicalists, functionalists, secular humanists, Marxists, etc.) relegate texts such as the Biblical Eden account to mere myth, an Edenic motif remains firmly embedded within their own Weltanschauung. In the beginning of this secular mythology, Eden was a singularity, which was eventually divided into countless pluralities by the Big Bang. According to the myth, the reconstitution of Eden is achieved through evolution, which invariably requires the assistance of Man (spelled with a capital M to signify humanity's potential to achieve apotheosis through the evolutionary process). Man unites evolution with the science of "progress," which is bodied forth through biological methodologies(e.g., eugenics, population control, etc.) and social methodologies (e.g., communism, fascism, and other forms of sociopolitical Utopianism). As evolution is guided down the desired course, Man returns to the singularity (i.e., a world government and a unified consciousness). Thus, Eden is reborn. However, Eden is confined to this ontological plane and immortality is attainable only through the continuity of the species. If elements of this mythology sound familiar, it is because it is certainly nothing new. It is derivative of ancient occult cosmologies, particularly Gnosticism. The only difference is that the scientistic version stipulates an Eschaton residing entirely within this physical universe. However, the scientistic myth resembles a religion in every way."
So, yes! Big Bang cosmology is definitely derivative of older, occult cosmologies. It is merely the new scientistic incarnation of ancient occult myths proffered by esoteric secret societies.
What is your definition of Luciferianism?
Luciferianism is basically the religion of self-deification, apotheosis. It is disseminated on the popular level as secular humanism, which exalts the anthropocentic dictum of Protagoras: "Man is the measure of all things." The promulgation and enshrinement of moral relativism within the dominant cultural milieu has facilitated the rise of this anthropocentric religion. Moral relativism is premised upon the rejection of absolutes, which is a self-refuting position. After all, the claim that there are no absolutes is a declarative statement of fact. Facts are absolutes and, as such, can't exist in a relativistic universe. So, already, the irrationality is apparent. Nevertheless, moral relativism has become the dominant cultural paradigm and it works to affirm the Luciferian contention that man is a god in the process of becoming. In the absence of moral absolutes, subjective proclivities and personal desires hold sway. Suddenly, man shapes his own morality. Of course, any being that can act as the arbiter of its own moral precepts would qualify as a god. And, this is at the core of Luciferian doctrine.
Luciferians need not acknowledge Lucifer as a literal metaphysical entity. In fact, most do not. Like the neo-Gnostics of the Promethean faith, Luciferians transform Lucifer into an object of immanent experience. The Luciferian believes that the Lucifer of religion is merely a symbol for the cognitive powers of man and their potential to apotheosize humanity. Thus, Luciferians venerate a purely immanent force, not a supra-sensible, spiritual entity. However, this makes Luciferianism no less Satanic in character. The Luciferian contention that man is his own god merely reiterates an older lie whispered by the serpent to Eve in Eden: "Ye shall be as gods." And, any mind that is free of moral absolutes is also free to rationalize its own self-interest, irrespective of who might suffer or what injustices might be perpetrated. The old adage opines, "The greatest trick that the Devil ever played was convincing the world he didn't exist." The Luciferian religion bears out this mantra. While Luciferians may not acknowledge the existence of a literal intelligent evil, they certainly fulfill its objectives. Believing themselves to be their gods, Luciferians still tangibly enact the principles espoused by the very entity that they reject. To put it simply, they don't believe in the Devil and the Devil likes it that way.
But where does the line become crossed? Is it the activity and intent, or could it just be the activity? I ask because it seems that it is actually possible for people to be engaged in Luciferian practices without even knowing it.
Given the widespread acceptance of secular humanism, one could argue that there are many unconscious practitioners of the Luciferian tradition. In The Reign of Quantity, Rene Guenon mentions "unconscious satanism." Such an appellation could be ascribed to modern pop culture. If that assertion seems somewhat strong, then just consider the societal rot endemic to the West. Millions of unborn children have been murdered under the euphemistic guise of "reproductive rights." Sexual sanity is eschewed in favor of the bizarre. Every holiday season, mindless shoppers place their tithe at the altar of consumerism with no thought given to any transcendant meaning that might have once underpinned the festivities. We even have kids shooting each other just to get the new Nintendo Playstation, for crying out loud! What lies beneath this cacophony? There is a wonderful poem by Steve Turner entitled, "Creed." It reads:
We believe in Marx, Freud, and Darwin.
We believe everything is OK
as long as you don't hurt anyone,
to the best definition of hurt,
and to the best of your knowledge. We believe in sex before, during, and after marriage.
We believe in the therapy of sin.
We believe that adultery is fun.
We believe that sodomy's OK.
We believe that taboos are taboo. We believe that everything's getting better,
despite evidence to the contrary.
The evidence must be investigated
and you can prove anything with evidence. We believe that there's something in horoscopes,
UFOs and bent spoons;
Jesus was a good man just like Buddha,
Mohammed and ourselves.
He was a good moral teacher although we think
His good morals were bad.We believe that all religions are basically the same --
at least the one that we read was.
They all believe in love and goodness.
They only differ on matters of creation,
sin, heaven, hell, God, and salvation. We believe that after death comes the Nothing
because when you ask the dead what happens
they say nothing.
If death is not the end, if the dead have lied, then it's compulsory heaven for all
excepting perhaps
Hitler, Stalin and Genghis Khan.We believe in Masters and Johnson.
What's selected is average.
What's average is normal.
What's normal is good.We believe in total disarmament.
We believe there are direct links between warfare and bloodshed.
Americans should beat their guns into tractors
and the Russians would be sure to follow. We believe that man is essentially good.
It's only his behavior that lets him down.
This is the fault of society.
Society is the fault of conditions.
Conditions are the fault of society. We believe that each man must find the truth that is right for him.
Reality will adapt accordingly.
The universe will readjust.
History will alter.
We believe that there is no absolute truth
excepting the truth
that there is no absolute truth. We believe in the rejection of creeds,
and the flowering of individual thought.
This poem is followed by a postscript entitled, "Chance." It reads:
If chance be
the Father of all flesh,
disaster is his rainbow in the sky,
and when you hear,
"State of Emergency!
Sniper Kills Ten!
Troops on Rampage!
Whites go Looting!
Bomb Blasts School!"It is but the sound of man
worshipping his maker.
Indeed, it is the sound of humanity worshipping its new god. His name is Man, apotheosized and enthroned to preside over his own crumbling Novus Ordo Seclorum.
Of course, both Masonic and secular scholars like to argue that Lucifer was a fiction concocted by St. Jerome and that mention of Lucifer in Isaiah 14 is merely a reference to the king of Babylon. Mind you, there is no consensus over which king of Babylon that this piece of Scripture could possibly be referring to. Moreover, Isaiah uses terms that are clearly supernatural and could not be ascribed to mortals. For instance, when he speaks of the usurper who is trying to exalt himself above God, Isaiah uses the term Helel Ben Shachar. Translated from Hebrew, this means "shining one." Unless the king of Babylon had naturally luminescent skin, this term must be referring to a being with more ethereal qualities. And, similiar Hebrew terminology is used in Genesis in reference to the serpent, which Revelation identifies as the Devil.
At any rate, we address this topic at length in the 2006 edition of The Ascendancy of the Scientific Dictatorship. But, readers who want a basic primer on Luciferianism can find one at http://www.conspiracyarchive.com/Commentary/Luciferianism.htm.
Now this is a stretch, but if I meditate by myself to achieve a "higher" mental state (some might consider a form of enlightenment), but in a totally non-religious fashion, how might that fit in?
That's a very subjective question. Meditation for the Christian means something entirely different from what other so-called "spiritualist" sects endorse. It really depends upon what you are meditating on and the nature of the meditative state you enter. We'd caution against any practices where the subject is told to focus on their own "internal deity" or other things of an anthropocentric nature. The New Age movement advocate such practices. And, some meditative states leave people extremely open to suggestibility. In such states, they can be easily manipulated. This is very dangerous.
How does the concept of antinomianism fit in with these ideas, if
at all? Could it be viewed by some as a charge against a breakaway sect
in just the same way as Luciferianism (not that it wouldn't be
legitimate)?
There are antinomianist elements within Luciferian doctrine. Jacob Frank of the Frankist movement claimed he was the messiah and had the power to render religious law null and void. He also said that he could do away with Christianity and Judaism because they were merely precursors his religion of self-deification. Frank came out of the Sabbateans, a movement that had many Masonic trappings. So, this idea of resisting ecclesiastical authorities seems to overlap in some aspects with Luciferianism. That is not to say that ecclesiastical authorities should always be obeyed. But, disobediance is really only acceptable when the ecclesiastical authorities deviate from the faith. Some religious decrees have nothing to do with the precepts of Christianity, but are merely political and social expediencies. Interestingly enough, the Calvinists have been frequently accused of promoting antinomianism. Yale, which is the home of the occult secret society of Skull and Bones, was established by Calvinists. Many Skull and Bones members certainly act as though they are accountable to no one. During his time in Vietnam, Bonesman John Kerry had 24 confirmed kills and none of the bodies had any sort of contraband on them. Bonesman Bush Jr. put Karla Faye Tucker to death even though many held that she was sincere in her conversion to Christianity. Strangely, Bush Jr. gave Henry Lee Lucas, a serial killer with connections to occult groups, a stay of execution. These are just a few examples. The point is that we have individuals carrying out questionable actions with complete impunity. They observe no ethical or moral laws as presented by the dominant religious authorities. So, there could be an antinomianist strain of thought running throughout Luciferian organizations.
Would you say you approach your research from a primarily
philosophical / historical standpoint? How do your theological views
affect or influence it?
Basically, we amalgamate our experience in our respective fields of study into a multi-disciplinarian approach. Paul has a background in history and political science. I (Phillip) have a background in philosophy, media criticism (particularly semiotics), and classic literature. These diverse backgrounds allow us to examine conspiratorial history from a multiplicity of vantage points. For instance, Paul's experience in political science has allowed him to provide a more scholarly view of parapolitics, as is evidenced by his own individual articles. For instance, "Conquest by Convergence: The Case Against Elite Convergence" (http://www.conspiracyarchive.com/NWO/Elite_Convergence.htm) critiques the theory of elite convergence by examining the plutocratic warfare that engulfed the Congo. Within that one article, Paul addresses a fallacious political theory, elite criminality, and parapolitics all at once.
Likewise, my background in philosophy has allowed me to examine topics such as the socially and politically expedient role that moral relativism has played in service to the power elite (http://www.conspiracyarchive.com/Commentary/Moral_Rubicon.htm). Meanwhile, my background in media criticism has allowed me to discern specific instances during which the power elite has waged semiotic warfare against the masses and the effects on the public psyche (http://www.conspiracyarchive.com/Commentary/Semiotic_Deception.htm).
For our book, The Ascendancy of the Scientific Dictatorship, we integrated all of our background disciplines to provide more of an investigational gestalt. For instance, there is portion of the book devoted to The Report From Iron Mountain. Paul's background in political science and history allowed him to provide a more thorough examination of the parallels between the recommendations of the Iron Mountain think tank and the emergent garrison state of the post-911 world. Meanwhile, my background in philosophy allowed me to apply Foucault's concepts of the panoptic schema and carceral culture to the Iron Mountain proposals. So, the analysis is slightly more comprehensive and allows readers to more clearly grasp the ramifications of what we are discussing.
In regards to our theological views, we have found that the research increasingly affirms what we believe. We do not attempt to change what others believe. Frankly speaking, we don't really care what others believe. We simply provide the information and analysis for the reader's evaluation. If the reader finds himself or herself disagreeing the personal convictions that accompany our presentation, then that is the reader's decision. Of course, there are those who argue that we should take more of a secular approach, as though such an approach would be more reliable.
However, as I (Phillip) have argued throughout most of my work, even the most stridently secular Weltanshauung invariably becomes religious in character. That is because all Weltanschauungs must proffer some core metaphysical claim. Metaphysical claims have always been the province of religion.
And, one could argue that secular Weltanschauungs are conceptually and philosophically predisposed to follow religious trajectories. In the article "Nothing Beyond the Flesh: The Theocracy of Prima Materia," I (Phillip) argue that anti-theistic, anti-spiritual Weltanschauungs are merely camouflaged variants of the same anthropocentric religion (http://www.conspiracyarchive.com/Commentary/Prima_Materia.htm). So, either way, religion enters the picture.
By the way, we don't consider our Christianity a religion. It is really a relationship, a personal relationship. Ever contemplate the etymology of the term "religion"? It means "to bind." Any belief that binds the adherent through a system of ritualized practices qualifies as a religion. I (Phillip) once had a guitar instructor who admonished me to practice my scales "religiously." Football fans could also qualify as members of a "religion." I submit to you the ongoing jihad between Ohio State and Michigan fans. Now, there is a religious war that I think might even make the most ardent Islamic jihadist cringe. Consider Bob Dylan... now there is a deity that has enjoyed being the center of the largest secular religion around.
Part 2 is now posted here -- http://rochester92.vox.com/library/post/an-uprising-against-promethean-hubris-pt2.html.
The Red Ice Creations web site and radio show is created by brothers Fredrik and Henrik Palmgren. The show broadcasts worldwide over the internet from the west coast of Sweden.
Henrik and Fredrik were kind enough to spend their time and energy answering some questions about their web site, radio show, and influences. Thanks again to Fredrik and Henrik for the interview and Red Ice Creations!
Without further ado...
I was wondering - what is the story behind how Red Ice Creations began?
Henrik: Red-Ice.net as the site was called from the beginning, started as an art project about 5 Years ago. It was intended to be a music/graphics site, like an online resource center for myself and a friend who started the site. Back then, early 2002, I started to read a lot of "alternative news" about 9/11 and about the same time I also stumbled on some information about the Mayan Calendar.
The site became a place where I gathered the most interesting articles I came across, pretty simple stuff. It wasn't until late 2003 that the site started to look somewhat similar in design to how it looks today. I've been interested in a lot of different topics long before I started the site - so it was never a really huge leap in any direction during this process - things just slowly moved in this direction and the site evolved up to the point where it's at today. There is a long story here and the site has changed many times over the 5 somewhat years that it has been online. I have tried to maintain faithful to the original idea of keeping much graphics on the site and try to have an eye for the design when I develop the site.
Fredrik: This is Henriks project from the start, he has done an amazing job getting the mix of news and site content going, all the design. I'm just glad to be a part of the the new site - thanks Henrik -
How long have you been interested in these topics? Is there anything in particular that sparked that interest?
H: As far back as I can remember I've been interested in mysteries, ancient civilizations, Atlantis, cryptozoology, space, UFO's, aliens, new technology and conspiracy. But I think it was really after 9/11 and when I first started reading about the Mayan calendar, as I mentioned above, that it all really took off. Looking back on it now, it seems like 9/11 was a wake up call for many people, on many different levels, that's pretty interesting in itself. And I think it adds even more "mystery" and dimension to the events that day.
At some point during this process I also realized that this is incredibly important stuff. It started as an interest… as a fascination, but the deeper into some of these subjects you get; you realize how important it all is. You realize how important it is for us to wake up if we are to survive the years ahead. So at this point, as most will understand, this is so much more than a "hobby" or something you do to "pass the time", as some people not yet "into it" seem to think.
F: Not that long, early 2000 I got a spiritual kick-start of sorts and really started to open my eyes and when 2001 09 11 arrived it was no turning back, a few months later I was glued to radio programs like Rense, Alex Jones, Unknowncountry, and looking at every possible "Alternative documentary" I could get my hands on. A crash course to get up to speed I guess.
How much of your time is devoted to Red Ice? Is it a full time job, as I suspect, or do you have other occupations?
H: Much time is being spent on redicecreations.com - even if all of it isn't "hands on" work with the site. A lot of stuff goes on "behind the scenes", like researching different people for the radio show and just sifting thru a lot of information. There is so much to do - but there just isn't time for it all. At this point the work is a very dynamic process and I try to go with the flow as much as possible - it has worked very well so far. Sometimes the news are a bit slow, and you'll be able to work on other areas… but mostly there's so much crazy, important and interesting stuff going on that there's just isn't time to get to it all.
Other than Red Ice Creations I have two extra jobs at the moment to be able to pay the bills. One is with audio & video installation and exhibitions, conferences and events. I also work extra as a technician at a local theater where I mostly do the sound during concerts and sometimes I handle the light during theaters and such.
Our move towards having subscriptions on the site is an effort to being able to spend even more time with the site. I hope we'll be able to provide more video/film content on the site soon also. We have lots of plans and I think both Fredrik and I have the intention to integrate our interest in making music, art, graphics and film/video into the site. At the moment it's mainly a question of prioritizing in regards to the time.
F: Yes pretty much, We are also trying to get some movie/film and music projects going.
As a Swedish resident, how would you describe your perspective on world political events? How do you view the EU?
H: Difficult question, I'd say that my perspective isn't different from anyone else who also have chosen to pull the plug on the main stream media (mainly television). I watch the international news more than I watch the local and generally it feels like people don't have the time, interest or the "pattern recognition" ability that is necessary to comprehend what's really going on in the world.
But it's on multiple levels and maybe that's why some people are having such a difficulty to understand it all. The political world scene is scripted like a bad movie …really incoherent - and I guess that's why people are having such a hard time to keep up with it …because it's all nonsense (that happens when you try to over analyze a bad movie script too). That's how I view it at this point anyway! It's designed to confuse you and make the impression that there are real "political struggles" going on in the world (and in some instances that's probably true, at least on the local levels - because of all the ambitious but low level politicians out there). When I changed my perspective and started looking at it like it's all designed to keep us occupied, and the real "movers and shakers" of the game are slowly advancing the agenda from behind the scenes, it all started to make sense. There really "brilliant" stuff is going on the subtle levels. It's an art - how to conduct society and people. There's so much more to say about this.
In regards to the EU, it seems to be setup to be the new power center for ruling the entire world. I read somewhere a while back that they keep seat number 666 in the European parliament unoccupied. I guess they keep that seat reserved for someone. Who knows if that's really true, we simply have to get a hold of the poor schmuck who got seat 665 or 667 in the EU parliament and ask. Then to further spur things they had this pretty interesting ad for the EU a while back that said "Europe: many tongues, one voice". I guess that's why they have built the EU Parliament in Strasbourg after that famous painting of the tower of Babylon by Pieter Brueghel that was done way back in 1563, so that probably reflect the mentality that's behind EU.
To me it's obviously an effort to rebuild what once was known as the Holy Roman Empire. But I'm not against a unified Europe, much less a unified world. I just don't like the centralizations of power that is involved in this process and the guys who pull the strings seem to be up to no good. It seems to be all about control and domination, and I don't want that! We need more people who can trust each other, and we need less paranoid-psychotic leaders - only interested in guarding their tiny dominion of power.
F: I observe the madness from a distance and the same goes for the EU. I am positive that we humans will find a way to work together globally, but Politics and systems like the EU is not it. When humans start to wake up they will know what personal responsibility means, it comes natural and it dissolves all hunger for leaders. People will understand how to communicate again and this will help to find and implement solutions. Institutions like politics (if I can call it that) mirrors the population and right now vast groups of humans are manipulated to give their power away, thus we will find the must unsuitable people in the top positions. The puppet show of today's world political events is pure black *magic. We will do all we can to expose this, and without fear in our hearts.
* Magic (to me) very simplified, is all the parts of this experience that is unseen, other words to describe magic could be, miracles, mysteries, the occult so on and so on. At least to me it's NOT a mystery or something to be afraid of, but as with everything here on earth we have to be conscious of what we are doing, understand what we are doing. Some of these magical practices may hurt ourselves and our neighbour, so do we take personal responsibility for this? (do we stop hurting others for personal gain) What "Black" magic is to me, is entities without soul basically, playing around with this kind of stuff. They don't stop it's up to us to say NO. But again, there is no need to feed these soulless entities energy, that's what they need to survive having no soul, so all the fear and hatred we focus on goes right into such a creature, it basically hinder these creatures to evolve. - EVOLve - we need to turn this world around - (we) LOVE -
Would you say that you learn as much as your listeners from the interviews, or are you usually already familiar with your guest's material prior to the interview?
H: Up to this point I have been familiar with almost everyone we have interviewed, just a few exceptions. This of course does not mean that I don't learn stuff and pick new things up. It's a real luxury to invite a guest to the program and nudge them in the direction that you want them to talk and speculate about.
F: I learn things constantly even though I'm familiar with most of the topics, and I hope I learn as much as any listener, my mind is still open.
From an audio perspective, Red Ice always sounds great. Did you have a lot of experience as a sound engineer before starting the show?
H: Both Fredrik and I have background as musicians, we have our own recording studio from where we do all our shows. Fredrik handles most of the audio technical stuff at this point and he does a great job at that! Many other "podcasts" and online radio shows out there frankly sounds really crappy sometimes, and one thing that we want to do is to have good quality on the recordings. It's another thing if you get a bad phone line, you're pretty much powerless about that - it has been working very well so far!
F: I've been playing, writing and recording music for about 15 years, so I recognise a microphone and a mixer when I see one.
What are some of your favorite or most memorable books that you've read on the occult, conspiracy, ancient civilizations, alternative history, etc.?
H: At this point I don't have time to get thru as many books in their entirety as I would like to. There are a lot of books on my "get to" list. Here are a few that I highly recommend: Michael Tsarion's "Atlantis, Alien Visitation & Genetic Manipulation",
David Icke's "Tales from the Time Loop", Carl Johan Calleman's "Solving the Greatest Mystery of our Time: The Mayan Calendar", Jeremy Narby's "The Cosmic Serpent". Jim Marrs' "Alien Agenda" and also his "Rule By Secrecy". Jay Weidner's & Vincent Bridge's "The Mysteries of the Great Cross of Hendaye, Alchemy and the End of Time".
I've also been reading Michael Talbot's "The Holographic Universe" on and off for the last six months. A few reference resources that you simply must have close by is Manley Palmer Hall's "The Secret Teachings of all Ages", Brad & Sherry Steiger's "Conspiracies and Secret Societies the Complete Dossier" and Texe Marrs' "Codex Magica" is also really interesting to go thru.
DVD material with lectures and documentary films are also an excellent resource when you might not have time to get to all the books you want to. Alex Jones' "Terrorstorm" and "Martial Law", Michael Tsarion's "Origins and Oracles" series is magnificent and Jordan Maxwell lectures and David Icke's DVD's are vital stuff!
F: I have read the Danish author Martinus 7 book series called "Livets Bog" (Life's Book, Title directly translated) www.martinus.dk this man has written a lot more and calls his collected work "The Third Testament" + Carl Johan Calleman - Solving the Greatest Mystery of Our time: The Mayan Calendar www.calleman.com we will have Carl back on the program soon.
I've noticed recently that both Alan Watt and Michael Tsarion have been "regular" guests on the show, which is awesome! How is it you choose researchers to be the regulars? Is it based on your impressions? Listener response? Both? Anything else?
H: We've gotten great feedback on the shows we've done with Tsarion, Watt and Moors. But mostly it depends on how broad they are in their research and what areas they are into. Tsarion, Watt and Moors are very different in their approach but they can all pretty much address anything and this rank really high in regards to "nomination" as a regular guest :)
F: All of the above, I'm very glad that Alan , Michael and now Christopher Moors are willing to come back and talk with us. I feel it's important to challenge my own views and ideas but at the same time follow the path, so to speak.
What is your understanding of 2012 and the end times prophecies associated with it?
H: Big Changes … I suspect it will only increase in the years ahead! This could be due to some rare cosmic alignment and we're about to line up with of the center of the Milky way or we are entering the photon belt and/or the precession cycle is taking us into the "Age of Aquarius" or it could simply be related to how the nature of creation plays out. It might simply be time for humanity to (again?) wake up and become more spiritually aware and at the same time move into areas of spiritual science and transcendent technology. The funny thing about this is that in these "end times" there seems to be one bunch of people waking up while the other bunch is falling asleep - to much stressed, over dosed with Drugs and TV - totally disconnected. But I guess this also could be seen as a sign that things are coming to a close - because in the long run - it's not sustainable behavior. We might very well be seeing some catastrophic events, such as earth changes or wars in the years ahead. But it's more about the inner world than the outer… and since the inner reflects outward - they are of course intimately connected.
F: "End Times" Simply means end of an age, this is nothing to be worried about it has happened before. and maybe we will find ourselves at "Times end" or the slowing down/speeding up of Time/Vibration experience. Is it the portal in to the 5th world (2+0+1+2)=5?. Carl Johan Calleman presents a very good argument for the possible energetically correct end date of October 28, 2011. I like to think of 2012 as if it has already happened, meaning that I have completed all spiritual preparations and started living now as I expect it to be then. It's important to look at the Mayan calendar system as more then just an end date, and more of a spiritual evolution calendar. I'm aware of the alignments and what have you, simply put I think it is going to be very interesting to be alive in the years ahead. Also, The Earth will not Explode…hi hi hi.
Do you engage in any esoteric, occult, or spiritual practices regularly (meditation, religious services, ceremonies, rituals, etc.)? If so, has it, and how has it, improved your understanding of the topics covered on Red Ice?
H: Nope. No religion, no rituals. I used to do a lot more meditation… at the time it helped me greatly to keep a perspective on things. At the moment for some reason I don't do at all as much meditation. I just try to be in the moment as much as I can all the time. I try to be aware and keep the mind quiet and keep away from stress. I guess that's also a form of meditation.
F: I do engage in meditation, prayer type communication but this is such a personal thing it's hard to explain. It definitely puts everything in perspective, meaning it helps me endlessly and releases any fear blocks.
