In this episode, Kentroversy returns to discuss ancient Egypt. Our conversation covers many different topics, including past lives, alternative history, religion, Hermetics, Alchemy, Tarot, and Magick. Although neither of us are “experts” in an academic sense with regard to egyptology, we have both spent years investigating the research available on the mysteries of the ancient world. Kent also shares his personal esoteric connection.

Chartres: the Virgin Mary’s Seat on Earth

In 1926, Fulcanelli – an obvious pseudonym – wrote “Le Mystère des Cathédrales” – The Mystery of the Cathedrals. The publication not merely created a renewed interest in the how and the why of the Gothic cathedrals, but also raised the question who Fulcanelli was. Several names have since been put forward, tall stories have been spun, including how Fulcanelli was over a hundred years old, did not die, but instead disappeared. It is now generally believed that the man at the origin of the mystery was René Schwaller – the man who, with the addition of “de Lubicz” to his name, would later make a name for himself as an Egyptologist, performing detailed analyses that would inspire the likes of John Anthony West.

Todd Campbell is an eso-researcher who writes a blog entitled, “Through the Looking Glass.” He joins us to discuss the historical events that have occurred on, or around, the date of April 19. Todd synchromystically connects many of these modern occurrences with mythology, resulting in some interesting symbolical resonances.

Specifically, he refers to the goddess Ceres and the Roman festival of Cerelia in relation to current events. We get into discussing the Virginia Tech massacre, this being a perfect illustration of the type of unsettling and often violent history of these days of the year.

Due to some extreme audio problems at the start of our conversation, I was forced to excise a portion, resulting in a rather abrupt beginning. As the dialogue opens, Todd and I are discussing author William S. Burroughs and how his view of the universe spoke deeply to Todd and his own feelings about the present and future of our world.
