Writer and researcher David Southwell joins us to discuss his work exposing secrets and lies.
In our conversation, David explains how he was always interested in the hidden secrets of the world and how this propelled him to his current vocation. He describes various aspects of research, particularly as applies to eso-research and conspiracies. The importance and relevance of these lines of inquiry are obvious when David describes his relationship with Alexander Litvinenko. Also, not to be missed is David’s knowledgeable description of disinformation, and how it is spread so effectively.
As David wrote in his excellent book, “Secrets and Lies”:
“The biggest lie you have been told is that you have no power to change the world, but the biggest secret is why, when you realise this, you don’t get up off your backside and do something about it.”

Superb interview and a very pleasant surprise for me as I have been reading David's comments on some of the blogs I frequent as well as his own. Nice to get his perspective on things. I shall have to put down my books on the Opium Wars and Alfred Williams, too and immediately order Secrets and Lies.
Your superb choice of tracks is appreciated. Police and Thieves reminds me of a previous life tooling round London in a Rolls-Royce Red MKll Jaguar in the 70's mixing with all the wrong people.
Kind Regards
As much as I'd like to take credit for choosing the music this time, the truth is that it was David's request and I was only too happy to oblige. Glad it brought back some memories ;-)
Re. Police and Thieves: Alright, nice one. I just assumed that the great LSP's involvement made it your choice.
