, aka Miguel Conner, is a friend of mine and is featuring an awesome guest this week on his
formerly known “Coffee Cigarettes and Gnosis”, now called respectively, Aeon Byte. Recently he has been in contact with a awesome Holy
Man who I don’t really know much about but I like the words I am reading and
the message that he is preaching. His
name is Yakov Leib HaKoHain. I am so glad that I was sent a message
about this. His heretical thoughts are a breath of fresh air.

Taken from his site, Reb. Yakov states

"The other Jews call me a heretic. Well, I am. And
worse, an iconoclast too: my goal is nothing less than the breaking of all
religious containers (and not just Judaism) for the sake of liberating God.
In the words of my 18th century namesake and predecessor, Yakov Leib Frank,
'All the faiths and conducts and the books that have been written till today
-- everyone who reads in them is like someone who has turned his head backwards
and is looking at things already dead. All of it comes from the Gate of
Death. But the wise man's eyes are ever in his head so he must look towards
He-Who-Walks-In-Front.' Like Frank and the other radical antinomian
Kabbalists who came before him, I worship God and not religion; I seek
for His salvation and not my own.....or, even less-so, yours."

I am so glad to
see others stepping up with this type of attitude.

I was also
surprised to see him quoting Holy Men such as Carl Jung. It is not every day
that you see a man of the cloth, respect a man of psychiatry. But to me a
shaman/priest/medicine man are similar roles. I consider Jung a HOLY MAN. I
really like this idea of breaking the paths to keep from repeating our past.
Switch directions and take control of our own relationships and ideas. This is
awesome.

chance check out the web sites and interviews.

in a way it should be renamed the 50th element, so many film releases, yet TV stations have only bought 4 films, one of them being the 5(0)th element... so relentless is their insistence on battering us with endless repeats... its an ok film, but not when its been on 500 times, who is watching all this stuff ?? and typical CH4, anything good like the Sopranos, Larry David is on about midnight, who is up at this time ?? I have to praise the new comedy LabRats, old format, which actually looks quite innovative compared with the endless tripe masquerading as comedy at the moment .. it just goes to show the 'whacky' does not necessarily a good comedy make, just good writing and believable characters,,, another winner from Armando Iannucci , I am a big fan of 'In the Thick of It'... this is one consistent and quality writer, great stuff.. if only TV had more people like this...

I am thinking of writing a song called 'Id wish Id had a life of crime'.. it would be a field day for those trying to spot grammatical errors... it could be semi-autobiographical, I can hear the chorus now, "I'd wished I'd had a life of crime, but all that's happened has rubbed my nose in the grime" to a Dolly Parton sorta tune... I can see myself at the Country Music Awards now, 'many thanks for this brilliant Award, I'd like to thank my vocal coach and the postman'.. because crime (not grime!) does pay... look at the News of the World, consistently crap, a crime against paper, yet raking it in, who buys this rubbish ?? then Canada... environmentally friendly types with prison for anyone not separating their waste in to 20 different types of recycled materials, and Jail for anyone found catching a lobster before all the Inuits have had theirs... and irony on irony - most of Alberta is now turned over to the most environmentally damaging form of surface mining, extracting Oil from sand,, greedy wee people churning up their land for a few extra dollars... a life of crime, I wish I had it in me to defame the public and rape the landscape,,, big money for all.. what a world.. eerrr 'News of the World'

No one has ever known me, I have never let anyone that close, and then I complain to myself about being misunderstood, i complain about people thinking they know me but not really knowing me, how could they? I have kept my Being, my Truth locked up so tightly, sealed away in the darkness, even from myself. And I have been so afraid of it that I locked it up in the dark and being afraid of it, afraid of the darkness too, I never went in to look at it. The mere thought of looking at it to see if it is still there, still like it was when I put it there however long ago that was....yeah whatever, look how much bullshit time I waste skirting around talking about what I am actually talking about by not directly talking about it.

I have never let anyone in. I derive great amusement by listening to other people talk like they understand me so well, like they feel like they've known me forever and they think they can read my mind or know what I am thinking. I nod my head and agree with them but secretly I am thinking...Idiot! Why don't they open their eyes and Look at me for once! LOL the joke is on me though. How could they if I am always wearing a mask, they have never seen me without my mask. No one has ever seen me naked. I could barely even stand the sight or thought of me naked until now. I have fought so vehemenently against appearing vulnerable, weak, fragile, soft. The joke is that I am all of those things and only those things, I am beautifully, wonderfully, perfectly vulnerable, weak, fragile, and soft. Flowers are vulnerable, weak, fragile, and soft, but the ego wants to be like a stone, permanent, unmovable, unchangeable, secure.

Look at us all running around trying to be special and different and extrordinary, standing out amongst the crowd. Even if we say thats not what we want, in some way or another, that is what we are alll trying to do. The funny thing about that is that we are all doing it, and the very idea that we are trying to be special, unique, immediatly means that we are not, because everyone else is also trying to be special and unique, which is not special or unique. Why dont we just be what we are. Accept and love ourselves as we are. We are already perfect. By not trying to be extrordinary, wouldnt that make us extrodinary? This is what our reasoning and intellect does. We reason that we must improve ourselves, fix ourselves, make ourselves better so that others will see that we are better, that we stand out and are unique....trying to be unique is not unique. Not trying to be unique is unique. LOL. Plus God made us anyway, so if we condemn ourselves and each other, we are by extention condeming our creator for not having made us to our expectations arent we? Or something.

But the real question is something must have caused me to hide, what was it? why am I so afraid of being vulnerable, appearing weak etc that I have to wear this mask. The mask reassures me that everything will be ok and that people will like me and I just have to keep pretending based on what society dictates is acceptable and desireable and I can get by without being hurt. I can not have to worry so much about being rejected because if people see my vulnerability, my weakness, my innocence, they might laugh at me, but only because they covered theirs up too and they are just as afraid. This develops in childhood I think, when we start out as flowers, but our parents and tv and society tell us it is better to be rocks because flowers are pathetic, they can be blown away with the wind or crushed so easily, it is better to be like a rock, better to be permanent and strong (except that is a bullshit lie, God created us like flowers, not lie rocks). So we start out as children (flowers) and we cover ourselve with more and more layers of bullshit (subpersonalities) so we can make it through life as comfortably and securly as possible. Except we end up like rocks. When we are born, we are soft and weak and innocent. When we die, we are hard and stiff like rocks. So that is a brilliant plan guys...lets run faster and faster away from life and towards death by making ourselves hard like rocks before we're even dead. We want to feel less and less because feeling hurts, but feeling is life. If you can't feel you can't love. Life is love. Death is a lie. (I like debating btw).

The other problem is the mask. Once we have this mask, we are constantly trying to make it better, more acceptable, and beating ourselves up because its not, and never will be what society tells us is "ideal." So we go on crying I don't make enough money, I dont have a nice enough car, I dont have a big enough house or enough influential friends, and we go on saying if only I had this or that...then I would be really happy. Except we arent. If only I had perkier boobs or a flatter tummy or less wrinkles...If only I had whiter/straighter teeth....if only I was skinnier or curvyer...if only I was more in shape...then I would be happy because people would accept me and like me more. And then we keep looking at these things we call flaws and then tell ourselves that we are fat or stupid or lazy and we should be doing this or that but we arent so its our own fault.

It makes so much more sense to just be who we are, to accept ourselves just the way we are. If we backtrack even just a little, we can see where we put more and more layers on to protect ourselves, and the big ones happen during childhood, those are the hardest, because what were you before you thought being human was an only? You cried whenever the fuck you felt like it, you didn't care if anyone told you not to cry, you felt like it so you did. No one has more authenticity than a child. None of us adults looks at the world with sheer wonder and amazement like children do. We are still children, children who picked up a lot of bullshit beliefes on the way to where we stand now, but we are still there. The wonder and amazement is still there. The authenticity of expression of our own Beings is still there, we just have to uncover it. Why don't we try to be who we are instead of trying to be like other people? God is never going to ask us why we were not somebody else.

Dear Friends.

Peter has been confirmed as opening the Thelemic Symposium in Oxford with an evocative piece on Babalon.
This will be a thirty minute prose reading, following similar lines to The Red Goddess but with some new material.
We are delighted to be speaking at this event and being given the opportunity to do this.

The Symposium is on October 4 running from midday to one in the morning.
As Peter is on first, you'll need to be there on time to catch his speech.
Full details of other speakers and how to buy tickets can be found here:

http://www.dowhatthouwilt.com/symposium/

There are only 120 tickets, so we would suggest that if you are interested you buy soon to avoid disappointment.

The Thelemic symposium is not linked to one particular form of OTO or orthodoxy.
This is something which we applaud, standing as we do deliberately outside of the politics that rather dominate the scene.
There are a wide range of speakers from David Beth of the OTOA /LCN to Mike Magee of AMOOKOS.
It is an event we fully endorse.

We
hope that the event inspires others, it would be wonderful to see
individuals deciding to organise and invite speakers to Scotland, the
North of England, Wales, Ireland, and Europe.
The revival stands and falls on the ability of individuals to take action, organise and make it happen, much like magick.

We hope to see some of you there.

In Nomine Babalon

Scarlet Imprint x

in a way you need a lot more bottle to be an artist now, (in comparison to say,,, the 70's or 80's, or even the 90's) whatever idiom you are working in, because of the web... any print media, its here today, gone tomorrow, but, the web is constantly there like an ever looming, impending disaster, its hard to think what benefit the web has had,, hundred's more tonnes of Porn, never ending lawsuits, fights, insults, web rage, terrible badly written reviews by student journos, novices, all-in-all, any sense of mystery, & irony has gone,... the web is really ruled by huge conglomerates, and 15 year old kids surfing around, no wonder its all uTube, mySpace & Bebo... I am trying to think of the benefits but its hard to imagine this-morning.. I know a couple of people who don't really get on the web and there lives aren't lacking in anything... the idea that you can get education, buy goods cheaper, get better service is a bit of a 'no', as the quality of their lives seems little different, and may be better, so, I am thinking , it won't be much longer before I take all my stuff down,,, it doesn't make the music any better does it?, and getting comments from 10 year olds who lack the brain power and any experience or irony or appreciation of anything apart from High School Musical is all too depressing... it must be even worse for people like Madonna and Chris Martin, for every adoring fan there are dozens of insults (including mine) and bad behaviour... the money I am sure is a buffer, but when your gone all that terrible stuff is still there, hardly fitting tributes to lives spent making an Art.. the web is like the big bully looming in your life, although the point being one can walk away anytime... and that time is coming I feel... does the web ever cheer anyone up?, perhaps some bored office workers who are sending strange funny pictures to each other or going on tiny. web sites seeing how many bums can fit over the face of a dog... will it all implode, probably... the snooping, gathering of info' from you, the whole big brother thing.. its all gone too ffaaarrr.. I am trying to think what demonstrations, what revolution, what protests or change have really been made by the web and I struggle.. it is still all down to human endeavour and little of what can be appreciated in life is on a screen in front of you..

What is love?

"A certain ingenious mechanism is called a watch because we have all agreed to use this word to indicate that particular thing; but the word 'watch' is obviously not the mechanism itself. Similarly, there is a feeling or a state which we have all agreed to call love; but the word is not the actual feeling, is it? And the word 'love' means so many different things. At one time you use it to describe a sexual feeling, at another time you talk about divine or impersonal love, or you assert what love should or should not be, and so on." J Krishnamurti

So what is it then? Ever since I realized that all my previous "love" was pretty much my need for specialness, which is always conditional, I don't know anymore or I never knew rather. I know what its *not* and thats a good start i suppose. All this time I have been trying to fix it, to solidify and capture it, define it. But I keep getting eluded over and over. Duh! It is not the nature of love to be fixed. It is like the wind. You cannot caputure the wind because then it can no longer be called wind. But still its not like we talk about it, I wont even pretend to know how to talk about it or that I really know how to love at all because so far I have not been successful. All my previous definitions shattered. Part of me soooo badly wants to define it, to feel secure in it, and the other part just laughs at that idea. It only really ever makes sense in the white light. It seems to me, that love exists only right now and never in the past or in the future. That is curious because of course, fear only exists in the past or future and never right now, it is only memories, or projections of memories, neither of which exist. I want to know what it is, but the very idea of knowing what it is means that I don't. Maybe it is something you can never Know, because it is outside the realm of knowing, and it is something you can only be. It is a state of being. That is what I want to be then.

"We want to be sure of love, to peg it down, so that it won't elude us; we reach conclusions, make agreements about it; we call it by various names, with their special meanings; we talk about 'my love', just as we talk about 'my property,' 'my family,' 'my virtue,' and we hope to lock it safely away, so that we can turn to other things and make sure of them too; but somehow it's always slipping away when we least expect it....

Surely, to know love, truth, God, there must be no opinions, no beliefs, no speculations with regard to it. If you have an opinion about a fact, the opinion becomes important, not the fact. If you want to know the truth or the falseness of the fact, then you must not live in the word, in the intellect. You may have a lot of knowledge, information, about the fact, but the actual fact is entirely different. Put away the book, the description, the tradition, the authority, and take the journey of self-discovery. Love, and don't be caught in opinions and ideas about what love is or should be. When you love, everything will come right. Love has its own action. Love, and you will know the blessings of it. Keep away from the authority who tells you what love is and what it is not. No authority knows; and he who knows cannot tell. Love, and there is understanding." jk

its a climb down, a step down, a retreat, a backtracking, although Jacqui Smith and Gordon Brown wouldn't call it that, they would refer to a 'learning of lessons', 'revision of policy after debate & public consultation', a 'radical reform in order to make gains within the fiscal sector reflecting considered lessons learned, and some lessons have been learned'... you think they would have some bloody idea, how many centuries of politics have we had in this country?, didn't we invent democracy ?? So they've gone back on their ill thought out, head in the clouds and completely thick policy of getting hoodies to visit stab victims in hospital as part of their rehabilitation... would you want to help rehabilitate the person who'd stabbed you?, I know what I would want to do with them ?? As ‘stabbing crime' (good name, must remember that,,, would make a good band name, anyone used it yet?) cascades across our communities, effecting everyone, even if its a media frenzy to scare us all in to staying at home so we can cut spending, saving the economy from freefall (or does it work the other way round ? who knows ?), Jacqui Smith, the 3 day old policy gets bundled under the carpet in 3 hours... We all know what its about don't we, we're spending a million a day in Iraq, to try and get our greedy wee feckin' hands on their Oil, but we refuse to build any more prisons... Judge's have been told to stop sending people to Prison as there aren't any (Prisons)... well I have news for you, I want my money spent on Prisons,, lots of them, all on Canvey Island (sorry Dr Feelgood), or in Rochester, or Aberdeen,, in fact don't bother doing that, just compulsory purchase a bunch of empty derelict warehouses (there's enough of them after John Prescott's disastrous reign), for pence, throw all the knife crimers in, chuck in some food every week and a Jeyes toilet cleaner block, and throw away the *****' key... because as someone who has been a victim of violent crime I want their Human Right's stripped, take away the TV's (who is paying the TV license for Prison's ??!), computer games, and reinstate hard labour. Its all about the money, because Gordon Brown has tried every stupid pathetic waste of time scheme in order not to spend money on new Prisons... so all right, get out of Iraq, Police on street corners again (it worked in New York!), and tough sentences... seems easy doesn't it, well that would be too easy for Politicians wouldn't it ?!

Those strange lights in the sky seem to move with unnatural precision, making turns and accelerations no human-made aircraft could possibly match. What ultra-advanced anti-gravity system allows UFOs to fly in such a bizarre way? Apparently it's ionized air. An engineering professor at the University of Florida has it all figured out, and he's going to build his own flying saucer.

Professor Subrata Roy started working on his "wingless electromagnetic air vehicle" (WEAV) for NASA. The surface of the saucer-shaped craft will be covered with electrodes that, when powered by a battery or other power source, will ionize the surrounding air to create plasma. When charged with an electric current, the polarized plasma will repel the non-polarized air, creating lift and thrust. Such an aircraft would have very stable flight characteristics, with the pilot controlling it by diverting the electrical charge to different parts of the surface. Professor Roy thinks it could be scaled up to useful dimensions (his prototype will be about six inches across).

I'd check out the professor's work while you still can. He's scheduled for a visit from a couple of guys in black suits tomorrow, after which his research will be republished in a heavily redacted form. Image by: Scientific American.

These media typeeessss are so cynical aren't they (not me!)
